Investing in Artists for Generations of Healthy Communities

In the U.S., trillions of dollars flow annually toward health, climate resilience, and economic mobility. Yet, these investments rarely produce the systemic change they intend. As the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has noted, the problem is not a shortage of capital or will, but rather a shortage of imagination, infrastructure, and mechanisms for channeling capital toward place-rooted, community-defined solutions. We are missing markets where drivers of wellbeing - like belonging, safety, and cohesion - are recognized, valued, and invested in upstream.

The Investing in Artists for Generations of Healthy Communities design team, facilitated by CultureBanq, proposes building a new market: culture as a legitimate field of knowledge and intervention, and artists as central actors. Just as science and scientists have long benefited from risk-tolerant funding, mature infrastructure, and permission to experiment, we believe artists and culture deserve the same.

In 2026, three cultural field labs - all with a unique set of arts, communities, activities, and outcomes - will come to market with investable opportunities. Click to learn more about our national design team and this innovative initiative.
